Your melee unit effectively just got two solid hits in and negated two of your target's AP that turn. During their turn they shoot your Frenzied, they get one shot, you melee overwatch, they lose their last action point. A simple example: Run up a Frenzied to a Trooper. They are now staggered and under melee overwatch, meaning when they act on their turn your unit will hit them again, and also stagger an action point off them. Run up to an enemy, hit them with a melee attack. Melee is a different beast from the usual play. And C] it's already been nerfed and may get nerfed further soon. according to the MP crowd spamming Engulfers with high level heroes in Engulfers of their own is completely overpowered, but A] I've never tried this and B] I rather suspect it requires effective use of power-levelling techniques to get the Guiding Aura ability. This should get you in combat range with your Frenzied and other melee units, whilst heroes, Transcendant and Hidden provide fire support. (Agile Overwatch is great.) This makes the whole group incredibly hard to hit. Then use the Shrouded Step to teleport next to your units and enter Overwatch. And when you get your tier 4 unit with battlefield-wide psi-buffs.Īdvance your Frenzied. (-15% to hit) Mantra of Healing is great later on. In particular, Mantra of Clarity on a Transcendent will obscure the unit they shield. If you upgrade your psionics units you can get some very nice secondary bonuses on your attacks and abilities. Conclusion: put units in groups of 2, so they get the swarm shield but a grenade cannot hit more than 2 units at once.Įven normal armies have a hard time spreading out far enough so grenades can't hit two units at least. Clumping together makes you vulnerable to AoE. Kir'ko are by no means my strongest faction, but I have picked up a few nice tricks:
